Taking a Sanibel Island Vacation

Florida is a state that is one of the favorite destinations for travelers because of places such as Miami Beach Real Estate, St. Augustine, Key West, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale. The vacation sites range from places with small town charm to the larger cities that are well known for their "party hearty" reputations.

Orlando is a Florida city that is packed with tourist attractions that rival the fun and sun that awaits guests at the beaches. Disney World, MGM, Epcot and Universal Studios all have theme parks located in this city that beckon to millions of visitors throughout the year.

The inland region of Florida is home to popular destinations that include Jacksonville and Tallahassee but the coastal cities remain the ones that continue to attract the largest numbers of individuals who are seeking a warm, fun and exciting vacation experience.

The Florida peninsula and panhandle all have a great deal to offer any visitor. You can escape to Florida's panhandle and discover the intriguing attraction of the GulfCoast region. The emerald colored waters are perfect for sailing, swimming or deep sea fishing. Barracuda, snapper, triggerfish and king mackerel are just a few of the many finned species that you might catch while you experience a deep sea adventure in the more placid Gulf waters.

Are your interests more high tech and scientific in nature? Then perhaps you would prefer visiting the southeastern coast of Florida where NASA is based. Tours are generally available throughout the year and if you time your visit exactly right you can witness an actual launch of a spacecraft.

Most of Florida's top beaches offer something for everyone including family adventures and romantic honeymoon getaways. Sanibel Island is one of the top choices of tourists of all ages. This is one vacation site that lives up to its well earned reputation for beauty, fun and relaxation. If you are compiling a short list of the most enjoyable vacation destinations in Florida you would have to include Orlando, Miami Beach Homes and Sanibel Island among the choices.

When you visit picturesque Sanibel Island you will be able to experience a coastal setting that is composed of snowy, white beaches, colorful tropical flowers and tall, swaying palm trees.  The turquoise and emerald hued Gulf Waters provide the perfect contrast as the waves rhythmically rise and fall along Sanibel Island's magnificent shoreline.

You can find some amazing shells on the beaches at Sanibel Island and many people agree that the variety and quality of shells makes this the #1 Florida location for this activity. The shallow waters that surround the island allow visitors to walk out into the warm GulfCoast stream for extraordinarily long distances without fear of the water extending any higher than their waists.

Be sure and check out the JN Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge when you visit.  This is a great place to see mangrove trees, and hundreds of different bird species. Forget the cars when you are on Sanibel Island and enjoy exploring your surroundings on foot or bike. Sanibel is a bike friendly environment where you can leisurely pedal your way along the main roads or special biking trails.

For those visiting guests that enjoy the adrenaline rush of such activities as windsurfing then the Causeway Beaches on Sanibel Island are ideal. Vacationers who arrive at the Causeway Beaches have a variety of water sports from which to choose including sailing, parasailing, canoeing, paddleboarding and fishing.

There are a number of beaches to explore when you visit Sanibel Island, Florida. The island's location makes it easy to reach the mainland as frequently as you wish or you can just escape from the stress and worry of everyday life by remaining on the island during your vacation in a true Florida Paradise.
