Deep Sea Fishing in Florida
70
There are many options for deep sea fishing in Florida. From the gulf to the ocean the fishing opportunities are endless! One thing that you will want to take into consideration when planning your deep sea fishing trip in Florida is what type of boat you want to go out on. There are many party boats and private charters along the Atlantic Ocean as well as along the GulfCoast.
Private Charters
Private charters are a great way to enjoy a fishing trip with just a small group of friends or family members. Most of the tourist towns in Florida, such as Miami Oceanfront Condos, Daytona Beach and New Smyrna have a wide verity of private fishing charters to choose from.
Private charters usually offer enough room on the boat for 6-8 people; however you can find charters that will accommodate larger groups as well. In most cases the charter will provide everything that you need for a day out on the ocean including, bait, tackle, rods, reels and fishing licenses. Some of them even offer lunch, beer and soft drinks.
The only downside to a private charter is that they can be quite pricey. One can expect to pay between $500 and $1500 for a private fishing charter. The rates vary depending on the time of year that you visit.
If you do decide to hire a private charter for your fishing trip there are a few things that you should bring with you. It is important to bring lost of sunscreen and water. You can get dehydrated very quickly while in the sun on the ocean! If you get any type of motion sickness it is a good idea to bring along some nausea medication as well. Some people who have never experienced motion sickness in their lives still get sea sick when they start bouncing around on a boat in the ocean.
Party Boats
Party boats are a great way to experience deep sea fishing as well. There are many party fishing boats in the South Beach Waterfront Condos area, as well as in Panama CityBeach. If you go out on a party fishing boat you should expect it to be full of people that you don’t know. Some of these boats can hold up to 200 fishermen.
DeepSea fishing on a party boat is less expensive than a private charter. The rates vary by season, but in most cases you won’t have to pay more than $100 a person to fish all day.
Most of these deep sea fishing companies offer full and half day trips. The half day trips are great for those who have never been on the ocean before or for those who are taking their children fishing. If you go on a full day trip you can expect to go much further out into the ocean.
Party boats also offer night fishing for sharks. If your dream is to catch a shark while on your fishing trip, then one of these trips might be just right for you. Call around to different party boat fishing companies to find out what time of the year they offer shark fishing.
